Birthdays Take Numerous Days to Celebrate

First off, I offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered birthday wishes to me or helped me celebrate. I had a marvelous birthday!

In fact, birthdays are best celebrated for days at a time. In my case, my actual birthday was a full-scheduled workday, including an evening work-related event. As such, there was very little celebrating that day. However, the following day (a Friday) the REAL birthday celebrating began in earnest!

I received a number of marvelous gifts, including my very own homemade German chocolate cake. It’s my all-time favorite variety of cake.

It was SO VERY yummy! You might notice from the photo that it appears some icing was missing. However, some topping stuck to the cake cover lid, so I simply applied a spatula and reapplied the tasty topping. As I stated, it was one yummy cake!

I also received an insulated Doctor Who travel mug. There’s nothing better to contain your favorite beverage than a Tardis mug…it holds a nearly endless supply. (Well, at least it sounds really cool to say so…)

One of my friend’s remembered that one of my favorite snacks is Moose Munch. It made yet another perfect b-day gift! They also remembered that my favorite blend is the dark chocolate Moose Munch. Oh, so very tasty!

I also received a cute pair of Dalek socks, and a number of gift cards to my favorite stores. Oh, the power of shopping is one of the best gifts!

This weekend, I spent quality time with friends, including a family Easter gathering. On Sunday, a good friend treated me to a movie and platter of super-nachos supreme. We saw the new Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice film, and let me tell you, it was absolutely fantastic! I’ll wait to review the movie at length in the near future, but suffice to say that I thought Ben Affleck totally NAILED the role as Batman. So very well-done, Ben…I already can’t wait to see him reprise the role in future films. Oh, and I’m ABSOLUTELY SMITTEN with Wonder Woman! (I issued a silent SQUEE when she appeared in the film.)

And, of course, no weekend of celebrations are complete without sharing quality time with my two furry family members…Tabby and Patches! They offered their best wishes in their own little kitty manner. I love them so much!

Now that’s the weekend’s come to an end, I can honestly say that I celebrated my birthday in excellent style. Moreover, I feel that I spent a satisfying length of time commemorating my personal milestone. It was a marvelous weekend!

I hope that you also had a good weekend. Perhaps you should consider celebrating YOUR birthday at length when yours rolls around. I think you’ll find that those special friends and family in your life will savor the opportunity as much as you will. Fun enough for everyone!
