Spring Break and Birthday Greatness
/Time flies, doesn’t it?
These past couple of weeks have flown by. The week of March 13 – 17 was my college’s Spring Break, so I had the entire week off from work. I spent nearly the entire week furiously typing on new material (that I spoke of in my most recent newsletter). In fact, I typed over 16,000 words of prime “Primo” material.
The week felt like a whirlwind, and before I realized it, it was over. I was left with the firm realization that…we need Spring break multiple times a year!
Unfortunately, my next major stretch of time off from work isn’t until the end of May or early June. *insert sad face*
Since last Thursday, I’ve experienced a WONDERFUL multi-day celebration of my birthday! I can’t fully express how wonderful it’s been to “party-hearty” with family, friends, and loved ones. It ranks as one of my best birthdays EVER!
Thursday, my staff and coworkers threw me a MARVELOUS surprise birthday luncheon, which was SO MEMORABLE since they made it a Doctor Who themed event. They’re the BEST to work with, and we’re like an extended family, which makes our time together some of the most high-quality experiences that one could ask for. Way to go, guys and ladies!
In addition, one of my staff (Angie) baked me a homemade chocolate-raspberry chocolate cake that was AMAZING! And they included some cupcakes that were topped with blue and white buttercream frosting.
Then there was another small gathering over the weekend, and…you guessed it…another FANTASTIC Doctor Who themed event. Not only is Doctor Who my favorite sci fi program of all time, it’s one of the most inspirational impacts on my life. (I’m very much in the same character type as the 11th Doctor, portrayed by Matt Smith.) In addition, the DW theme reflects that I’m not so much getting older, but rather, I’m “regenerating” into another part of my self and life.
Finally, a HUGE THANK YOU to each of you who have wished me a Happy Birthday and helped celebrate this momentous time in my life! I love, adore, and appreciate your positive impact in my life.
Until later, enjoy life; be kind to those around you, and Happy Reading! Peace.
